DIFFERENT HAIR EXTENSION METHODS

Most women get wowed by the transformation that comes with the addition of hair extension to their looks. Surprisingly, there is also a dark side to this amazing intention. This means there are cons to every pro to the use of hair extension. There are some things you need to put into consideration when booking an appointment with your hairdresser.

Before considering the pros and cons of hair extensions, it is good we know what hair extensions actually are:

WHAT EXACTLY ARE HAIR EXTENSIONS

Hair extensions are sometimes called hair integrations. They are in most cases use to add to the volume as well as the length of a person’s hair. They can be made of synthetic or natural hair. The virgin natural hair extensions are of amazing quality and also the most expensive. For those on a tight budget, a synthetic hair extension is an ideal option. Although the synthetic hair is not ideal or great when it comes to styling, this is because they tangle easily, they are mostly for people who are looking to get a temporary look or change in style – no much maintenance needed like the hair extension.

HAIR EXTENSION METHODS

THE MICRO RING HAIR EXTENSION

The micro ring hair extensions come mostly in the form of a small bundle of hairs that are coiled through small parts of your natural hair. The micro ring extension is then secured using a metal bead clamped around it with, using a pair of pliers. A more suitable and convenient version of the micro ring hair extension is the micro loops that come together with the bead and loop beforehand. This micro ring extension does not require a loop tool for its attachment.

WEAVING

This method of hair extension requires you to create a horizontal cornrow on your hair and then sew your hair extension into the rows using cotton threads and needles. The extensions are literally sown or woven through your hair. These kinds of weaves are popular among the African women, due to their super thick hair that properly conceals the hair extension.

THE CLIP-IN HAIR EXTENSION

The clip-in hair extension is said to be the ideal choice when it comes to giving your loner hairs in a few minutes. The clip-ins are weft of hairs that come with clips that are attached to them at the top. You just have to clip them to the root of your hair and you’re good to go.

THE HOT FUSION HAIR EXTENSION

This is quite an amazing method, but it requires the help of a well-trained professional. This is because the procedure starts by using a keratin U-tip bond that is usually lined with silicone and attaching them to the extension. The extension then gets bonded to the root of the hair using a heating tool. The main purpose of the silicone lining is to protect your hair from damage caused by heat.
